Caffeine

Where does caffeine come from ?

Caffeine is an organic molecule, an alkaloid to be exact. It is found particularly in coffee, which gave it its name, but also in tea, guarana, mate…

In humans, it acts as a stimulant of the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system. It helps to reduce drowsiness and increase attention.

Caffeine is the most consumed psychoactive substance in the world. In North America, for example, 90% of adults consume caffeine daily.

It is by far the most widely used active ingredient in slimming cosmetics and can be found in the form of purified, pre-formulated or vectorized molecules (liposomes, nanoemulsion).

What are its properties ?

When applied to the skin, it has various properties : soothing, toning, antioxidant but above all it is an excellent anti-cellulite. Indeed, it is generally for its lipolytic action that caffeine is used. It will stimulate lipolysis (natural degradation of lipids by our body) and thus limit the storage of fat.
In addition, it also acts as an activator of skin microcirculation. This means that it influences the micro-vascularization of tissues by modifying and reducing the appearance of cellulite.

How to use it ?

Thanks to its multiple properties, caffeine is the undisputed leader of slimming ingredients. To be used daily on storage areas such as legs or buttocks, it will help to reduce the “orange peel” aspect.
Concerning its use on the face, it will allow to improve the aspect of the eye contour by reducing the pockets and the rings.
